NNRC Announces New Member: Great Lakes Shorthand Reporters

The National Network Reporting Company (NNRC) is pleased to announce a new member in their national line up of court reporters: Great Lakes Shorthand Reporters in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The court reporting firm will serve as the Grand Rapids’ area main court reporting resource—a major hub for the legal community in the state of Michigan.

Shalloway & Shalloway Announces Protection from Exploitation Bill

Credit: Community Home Health Care

(West Palm Beach, Florida) November 8, 2018

The experienced elder law attorneys at Shalloway & Shalloway are pleased to announce that vulnerable, Florida adults are now protected by law against exploitation. In March of 2018, Florida governor Rick Scott signed a bill that provides the ride to file an injunction for the protection against exploitation of a vulnerable adult—namely, those under the care of a guardian. The bill is especially prevalent in the state of Florida, where a court-appointed guardianship program is in place to ensure the support of adults in need of support due to age, mental illness, or disability.

Exploitation of the elder community is a serious problem not only in Florida, but across the United States. Firm owner and operator, Mark Shalloway, posted this informative blog entiry to help shed light on the situation, and to help family members learn more about court intervention. This could prevent an exploitive guardian from contacting the abused elder, freeze the assets sent to that exploitive guardian, and provide protection (such as restraining order) to the guardian.

Another way to protect senior loved ones is to have a dedicated elder law attorney at hand. The professionals at Shalloway & Shalloway have been serving the elder community for nearly 30 years. Figuring out a loved one’s will, their Medicaid benefits, guardianship, and so much more is difficult and exhausting. Shalloway & Shalloway’s staff is here to make that transition as easy as possible.

To learn more about elder law and Shalloway & Shalloway, call (561) 686-6200, go to shalloway.com, or visit their offices.

Tempest Reporting Announces New Legal Resources Page

(Salt Lake City, Utah) October 10, 2018

Tempest Reporting is pleased to announce their new resources page. The main menu sub-heading will contain information on depositions, frequently asked questions about the court reporting industry, and more. Tempest Reporting designed the section in an effort to allow their clients a better understanding of not only the industry, but the legal industry of Salt Lake City. To access the page, all one has to do is look at the header menu and select “Resources.” It’s fresh, clean, and easy to navigate.

Tempest Reporting has always been dedicated to providing their clients with the most up-to-date legal resources the industry has to offer. In fact, it’s an aspect of business the firm was founded on. In 1988, firm president Ariel Mumma was shocked by how far behind most court reporting firms in Utah were. By not offering their clients the best technology available, these firms fell behind the curve and, as a result, their clients’ work suffered.

The firm was one of the first court reporting firms to accept and deliver transcripts by email. This allowed work to move more easily and seamlessly between client and employee. Tempest was also among the first to offer compressed transcripts, as well as to extend their line of work and provide clients with a videoconferencing option. Nowadays, Tempest has expanded their work to include video depositions, conference rooms, and even an online scheduling option for busy attorneys and paralegals. Each and every one of the firm’s innovations were made to make the lives of their clients easier.

NNRC Announces New Additions to Directory of Court Reporters

(Folsom, California) October 4, 2018

The National Network Reporting Company (NNRC) is pleased to announce the addition of new firms to their prestigious directory of court reporters. The NNRC is dedicated to providing busy attorneys and paralegals a database of top-tier court reporting firms that can always be counted on. To be added to the NNRC’s list of members is an honor for court reporting firms across the world. The intense vetting process assures the firms’ quality of service, their timeliness, effectiveness, and accuracy in court reporting.

The additions of these firms came with the new state directory the NNRC now offers. Clients from across the United States can select their state, then the city or county nearest them, and find a court reporting service that will fulfill all their needs. Iowa court reporters and Nebraska court reporters are just two of the 50 states accounted for by the NNRC. Law firms in these areas no longer need to worry about finding a court reporting service that is right for them.

Thomas & Thomas Court Reporters and Certified Legal Video is one of the recent additions. These Omaha court reporters have been serving the state of Nebraska for over 40 years. Where many firms lack in keeping up to speed with technological advancements, Thomas & Thomas has prided itself in offering the latest in legal technology since their opening. They even stream realtime to iPads. The staff’s dedication and professionalism makes them a perfect candidate for NNRC membership.

An Iowa-based court reporting firm is another to be recently added to the NNRC’s lineup. Susan Frye Court Reporters tops the other Des Moines court reporting services. Susan Frye Court Reporters’ quality service is next to none. They are dedicated to providing prompt, personal service that emphasizes the individual, not how much money they may or may not make. With Susan Frye Court Reporters, clients can be confident that there are truly cared about.

Mark Shalloway Answers Frequently Asked Questions About Medicaid

(West Palm Beach, Florida) October 2, 2018

Mark Shalloway of West Palm Beach elder law firm, Shalloway & Shalloway, is pleased to announce the latest addition to their website’s informational blog. Shalloway uses the blog to keep his clients up to date with recent changes in the field, as well as to offer tips and tricks to help make lives easier.

Mark Shalloway

In his newest post, Shalloway addresses frequent questions about income trusts and Medicaid that many have. Income trusts through Medicaid are frequently utilized to offer middle-class Floridians the assistance they need to provide their loved ones in-home and/or nursing home care. The topic can be confusing to many, but Mark Shalloway breaks down a few common questions in an easy to digest format that helps clears the air.

The publication confirms that, no, not all earned monthly-income goes into the trust. The limit depends on the amount of money a person makes, as well as which program they are applying for. He informs the public that income goes into a retirement account, VA pension, and social security. The money can be used for certain expenses as a sort of monthly allowance. With these answers out in the open, Medicaid doesn’t seem as intimidating of a topic.

The staff at Shalloway & Shalloway are always doing what they can to ensure that their past, present, and future clients are as educated in the field as possible. Educated people make educated decisions, which are vastly important when dealing with the future of our elderly loved ones. Legal expert, Lucero Nunez, commends Mark Shalloway and his team for their dedication to not only the field, but the people.

“Mark Shalloway goes the extra mile,” he says. “Where many attorneys turn the other cheek and let their clients figure things out on their own, Shalloway is there. His dedication to his clients and their families makes a long-lasting impact in the lives of many.”

For more information on Mark Shalloway, his firm, and elder law, visit their website and their offices.
